Te patukirikiri, Te Patukirikiri is one of the iwi of Ngā Mana Whenua o Tāmaki Makaurau (the Tāmaki Collective). Te Patukirikiri, as a hapū descended principally from the eponymous ancestor Kapetaua, maintained a social structure centered on whānau units bound by whakapapa (genealogy), with extended kin groups cooperating in resource management, defense, and ceremonial activities typical of pre-colonial Māori society. This rohe map represents the area over which Te Patukirikiri exercises kaitiakitanga for the purposes of the Resource Management Act 1991 and is based on the Area of Interest agreed between Te Patukirikiri and the Crown in the Deed of Settlement signed on 07 October 2018. It has its origins in the Waiohua Confederation, a group of tribes that are located in the Tāmaki isthmus and trace back to the Tainui Waka.
